Currently...

We don't have any really exciting news going on around here so I thought I would do what some of my friends have done and share some other things about me right now.
Currently, I LOVE...
Strawberry Shortcake!! Steve and I made some for our Sunday dinner with my sister on Sunday and now I can't get enough. I know its not the healthiest thing for me but I just can't seem to resist that sweet and juicy goodness sitting down in my fridge!!

The Spurs!! I know that they aren't doing all that well right now but I am a true blood fan in rain or shine. I just love Tony Parker (yes, I will admit that it started with his wife Eva Longoria who stars in one of my favorite shows Desperate Housewives)!! Last night I watched the entire broadcast of Michael Jordan getting inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame just to see the interviews with Tony Parker :)

I have to always currently be watching a season of somekind. Currently I have cycled back through to my old favorite Dawson's Creek- sometimes it's a bit dumb but overall I love it!! Hehehehe...

The fact that my plan book is completely filled and planned for the rest of the year!! It's a little strange because I come home and really have no work to do and since I'm a bit of a workaholic it's going to take some getting used to. I really take time planning my lessons and activities and work hard to make sure my class is learning but having fun. I love my class so much this year!!

This season of America's Next Top Model is amazing! I didnt really love last season and therefore went into this season with a bit of hesitance, but it really is so good. You should watch it!!

This is the first season that I have watched and I only did so because Melissa from The Bachelor is on it. Oh but you know it- I have another show to add my weekly schedule (Steve just loves that). I love Melissa- she is amazing! I also really like Ty Murray and Shawn Johnson!

The beautiful weather we had yesterday and today! It is wonderful and I have only been waiting forever! We took our classes outside to get them ready for our annual Hershey Track Meet and it was so fun to think that I get to stop spending so much time in the classroom with them and begin doing the really fun stuff. It was also nice that Steve and I got to spend some time together this evening picking weeds... how fun ;)

Sunny St. George

This past weekend my family went down to the beautiful and sunny St. George! We went for the dedication of Robert Gardner's statue. That was my great great grandfather who played a huge role in settling St. George. We drove with Becca and Jesse and kids Friday morning and met up with my parents at the hotel. That night we went swimming, shopping at the outlets, and went to dinner.
On Saturday we started the morning by attending the dedication ceremony. It was wonderful- and it turns out that we are related to Elder Holland. Robert Gardner was his great grandfather (so the same as my dad). Although he was through a different wife then my dad's family it is still neat to think that we are related- even distantly. Therefore, Elder Holland addressed the group and gave the dedicatory prayer. After the ceremony there was a big luncheon after which all of my dad's family met up and had a mini family reunion.

We came home on Sunday afternoon to freezing snow after leaving beautiful 75 degree weather! That was a bit depressing!!

I realized that I love St. George! It it wasn't so hot in the summer I could definitley live there!

Our New Addition...

Well.................

I know what you thought! No, we are not having a baby. But yesterday I did get a new car. I am so excited because for the first time I got brand new car! It's a 2009 Toyota Corolla Sport- I was sad to see my little Civic go but much more excited to have this little beauty. I don't have any pictures of my actual car because I left our camera in Colorado last week but mine looks just like the one below. And of course its black... since according to my sister we are in the mafia with our black cars :)

Lightening Speed

As Steve and I sit and watch Smallville and Grey's Anatomy I thought I would catch the blogging world up on the events of our house! We have had a crazy busy week, so where do I begin...

Last Friday Hillary, Becca, Jesse, kids and I surprised my parents in Colorado! My dad just got called as a new bishop in their ward- it was a really big deal because the whole stake was being reorganized and my parents new ward has taken people from 5 other wards. So it is going to be a big challenge for my dad, but he will completely live up to it!

Everyone else left at about 1:00 on Friday afternoon. I couldn't leave school early because I have a BYU cohort in my classroom. So Steve and I decided that I would fly- my plane left at 9:15 and arrived in Denver at 10:30. It just happened perfectly that Becca and Jesse had great timing to pick my up. When we got down the the Springs we stayed at Ashton's house for the night. We woke up really early on Saturday and drove to my parents house to surprise them! It was such a great weekend- fast and very tiresome but totally worth it.

Isn't little Foxx just the cutest little thing!!??

We left at about 2:00 on Sunday after the stake meeting and I arrived home at about 11. Steve was alone for the first time over the weekend (he couldn't go because of lots of work and school stuff). It was so good home to be with him again even though it has only been two days. And he surprised me by painting our spare bathroom upstairs- what a great husband!!

After having absolutely no break from school and being stressed with my BYU cohort, I started another long week. Ok, so Wednesday and Thursday I made many visits to the toilet being sick with the 24 hour stomach flu (and no it is not pregnancy :)). On top of that we had parent teacher conferences last night until 9:30... so I missed school yesterday but sucked it up last night to meet with all my parents. Today I felt much better and was able to go to school for teacher development day and get so much done!!

After a whirlwind of the last 8 days, here's to a relaxing weekend!!

And the winner is...

In December our good friends Tim and Tori moved to Arizona. Although we were sad to see our hang out buddies we were excited because we planned to meet up this summer on some extremely fun vacation! We also invited our other friends Cami and Nate- Tori and I know Cami from school and now Cami and I teach together at Riverview.
So we decided that we would all come up with 2 places that we wanted to go and find airplane tickets, hotels, and activities. After everyone had their places with prices we voted where we wanted to go. Here were our choices:

New York City
Disney World
Caribbean Cruise
Seattle & Canada
Washington D.C.
The votes were tallied and the winner was...
Caribbean Cruise!!!

So this July the six of will be spending 5 days on a relaxing cruise and 2 days in Miami (where I have always wanted to go because of CSI Miami, minus all the murders of course). I can't wait!!!

A Two Year Olds Birthday Party...

Friday was our niece Livi's birthday. My sister threw a little birthday party! Steve wasn't able to go because of class but I went and for only being 2 years old, it was quite the party. Livi is very into dolls right now and anything to do with them. We gave her some outfits for her doll that she got for Christmas and she also got a new crib and high chair. It was so fun to watch her play with her new things (sometimes she was having to fight with Luke to use them). Overall, a nice and entertaining way to spend an evening...

Birthday Celebrations...

Steve and I both took the day off on Friday to spend his birthday. We started the day by having the appraiser look at our house (since we are in the process of refinancing), after which we jumped in the car and headed for Salt Lake. My family has a tradition of going to the zoo on New Year's Eve in Colorado, but since we weren't there for the holidays this year we didn't get to go. So we planned on going to the Hogle Zoo here on New Year's Eve, but things didn't work out and we did not end up going. So we decided to go on Steve's bithday.
I know it seems funny to go to the zoo in the middle of winter- but it was so much fun! We couldn't have picked a better day to go, it was absolutely beautiful and not that cold at all!

After returning home Steve rested while I worked on his cake. We watched a movie together and then left for dinner. We went to Red Lobster (definately not my first choice) for Steve's birthday dinner. He loved it so that's all that really matters!! After dinner we came home and Steve opened his presents and we ate cake. By this time it was really late and we were tired so we curled up in bed to some "Friends." It was a great way to spend the day and Steve's birthday!
This cake doesn't look as good in the picture as in person, but I was extremely proud of it! It is a three layer homemade chocolate cake with chocolate whip cream frosting. My mom always made this cake for us and it was my first attempt at it.
Here is Steve with his birthday gifts- he got the new season of Matlock, some new shoes, 2 new shirts, and some new cologne. He was a happy man!
