Pumpkin...

... Shaving! Oh wait, isn't it called pumpkin carving?! Not in Steve's book! We followed through with our yearly tradition and carved pumpkins with my sister and her family. Well, Steve always entertains and did it again with another slightly different version of shaved pumpkin. We enjoyed time with family, some delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and some ice cold root beer!

Becca and Livi carved "Cat and the Hat Knows All About That." Livi could never just call it Cat and the Hat!

The whole group hard at work!

Luke lovin' on Hadley- yes she is about to cry because she had just fallen over!

So Livi's favorite thing to do is take Hadley up to her room and shut the door to have some good 'girl time.' Who knows what they do up there?! Ok that makes me sound like a bad mom but Liv is a great little babysitter and Hadley loves to be up there with her! This time I snuck some pictures...

Then a little later we realized that Liv had gotten her stamps out. This is how the conversation went-

Becca- "We can't play stamps with babies Liv."
Me- "Did you put any stamps on Hadley?"
Livi- "No..."
Livi again- "Well just a couple on her cheeks."

Yes, Steve shaved his pumpkin with a cheese grater...

At the end of the night Hadley was tired and very content on snuggling with me and sucking on a bead necklace- Oh the simple things in life!

Look forward to another shaved pumpkin next year!

Sick Day... Oh I Mean Week!

Hadley has had this nasty cold since Saturday so I didn't take her out of the house until yesterday (and that was only to go to Becca's to play for awhile). She was miserable Saturday and Sunday but since has just had this icky icky nose! That may seem a little extreme but I didn't want this to turn into a cold that she will have ALL winter. So yes Saturday -Thursday inside made for quite a long week. But we did plently of things to fill our time!
-
We played lots and lots with all of our toys!
We played on the computer...

We shared some snacks...

We kept our normal routine- breakfast, playtime, nap, playtime, lunch, playtime, nap, playtime, dad comes home, dinner, playtime, bed. Rinse and repeat again!

Hadley helped me put all her new clothes away...

Hadley helped me get ready for my Cub Scout Pack Night last night (don't worry I don't let my daughter play with large bags of trash, it's bags of popcorn for our carnival)...

We read alot of books...

And we spent alot of time taking silly pictures and looking at oursleves in the mirror...

I have to admit that it's kind of a long week but I always love with my little girl!

KSL Steals!!

For those of you who know me well you know that I am not much of a bargain shopper. If I see something that I want I don't really search very hard for the best deal, I usually just buy it off of Amazon. Well last week I hit the jackpot of deals!
Hadley was sleeping and I had done everything for the day that I needed to get done. I was just cruising around the internet and thought I would look at the KSL classified just for fun- my sister is always finding good things on there for way cheap. Well, I found some awesome toys for Hadley... they were in great condition and all I had to do was clean them with bleach water and they were like new!

Fisher Price Laugh n' Learn Kitchen:
Sells on Amazon for $169, I got it for $5!!

Fisher Price Piano:
Sells on Amazon for $120, I got it for $5!

Fisher Price Bounce & Spin Zebra:
Sells on Amazon for $69, I got it for $10!

Fisher Prince Song & Story Chair:
Sells on Amazon for $100, I got it for $5!!

So I got $440 worth of toys for $25!! Unbeatable and it helps that Hadley LOVES them!!

8 Months... Really? Already?

My baby girl turned 8 months on Friday- I feel like she is getting so big!
Don't you just love those perfectally round, pinchable, kissable cheeks (and the nice bump above her eyebrow)! I can't get enough of them!

Hadley is everywhere and into everything! Including opening drawers, cabinets, waiting for you to open a door or the fridge :) She crawls around like a maniac and pulls herself to stand on everything. She tries to walk or cruise along the furniture if she sees something she really wants (you know- phones, remotes, cords, food) but is pretty unsteady so she usually falls. Still a great sleeper and still happy as ever! She is talking ALL the time- mama, mamba, baba, bab, dada, gaga, gagoo... She is getting better at letting other people hold her and being a bit more friendly, but still a major mama's girl!

So the only time she will even glance in the direction of the tv is if there is music. So I thought I would buy her a Disney sing along video- can I say she LOVES it. She doesn't even take her eyes away... notice in both pictures her eyes are glued to the tv! Don't worry we only watch for like 10 minutes, I just don't plop her in front of it :)

She is still our little chunker. She wears mostly 12-18 month clothes (few just 12 months still fit). She doesn't eat baby food anymore, just mostly everything we eat! She loves it!

Daddy just walked through the door- this little girl LOVES her dad!

Crazy Corn Maze!!

On Thursday night a bunch of families from our ward headed up to South Jordan to the Crazy Corn Maze. It was a bit of a drive but so fun and so worth it! Plus one of the ladies from our ward sister owns it so it was practically free! A bunch of us met at a nearby pumpkin patch first to take some cute pictures and get some pumpkins.
So I apologize for the pictures but with people all over, tractors driving up and down, and everything else going on we could NOT get Hadley to even glance in the direction of the camera more than once or twice.

Mostly she was interested in eating the hay... yummy, yummy!

Seriously whatever anyone tried we she wouldn't look!!

Then we headed to the maze for some dinner beforehand.

Loved the time being with my little family! And loved that Steve was not at work or school!

Aspen

So last weekend my whole family met in Aspen, Colorado for a quick trip with everyone there! With our family there is always garunteed laughs and entertainment and this trip did not fail to please!
We didn't meet in Aspen until Friday but our family and Becca's wanted to extend the trip by a day. So we got up early on Thursday to spend the first day in Glenwood Springs. Have you ever stayed in a hotel room with 4 adults, a 6 year-old, a 3 year-old, a 1 year-old, and an 8 month old? Can we say interesting and non-stop craziness!
Hadley quite enjoyed herself at the diner in Glenwood Springs! I didn't get any picture of us at the Hot Springs pool, but if I had the picture would have looked like Hadley trying to drink the disgusting sulfur water while the rest of were trying to keep our mouths as far away as possible!

So after dinner we headed over to the Hotel Colorado to check out the ghosts. This is a old hotel that is supposed to be haunted and has lots of stories of ghost sitings. Luke was so scared the entire time (for real) and just wanted to go, go, go!

Steve checkin' out the penthouse level where the little girl chased her ball off the top and fell to her death. He wouldn't go any farther than about half way up those stairs!

Hadley had blowout at dinner all over the back of her little dress so Steve would only carry her like this! And yes we went into the bathroom to clean it up before this but I guess it didn't matter to him!

Group photo in the hotel.

So we got a private tour of the basement and attic from a maintenance guy. Steve is sitting in the exact chair where a main hung himself like 100 years ago in the attice. Why he wanted this picture who knows?

Our first evening in Aspen- walking to dinner at a famous diner!

Kiddos all bundled up!

Hadley woke up at 5:30 on Saturday morning and would not go back to sleep. Since we were in a lodge and didn't want to wake everyone up so we got her out to be in bed with us. This is what she looked like about 7:15... completely exhausted!!

Cousins lovin' on Hadley- Foxx and Fiona loved her!

Getting ready for a family hike! It was pretty cold so Hadley was COMPLETELY bundled in her winter gear- doesn't that look comfy?! Not really!

Foxx- cutest little boy EVER!! I love his cute little personality!

I got freezing so Ashton lent me his vest!

The whole Gardner family!

This is what it looks like when we try to take a cousin's picture...
We went to the John Denver memorial (don't ask me why they made this?!). Steve is singing (way off tune I might add) here to Hadley, he can be quite strange at times :)

We love Aspen- gorgeous isn't it?

It was a great and relaxing weekend filled with lots of eating, shopping, and family game playing! I love my family!
