Life Lately...

Well, I realized that I haven't really posted in a couple of weeks. To be honest, we haven't really had a lot going on. Steve has started back in school and is still working hard at work- as always. I have been back into my old school routine and of course loving spending each day with my wonderful class!

Last night Steve and I went to the BYU basketball game last night with Luke & Jesse. I'm definately not a huge fan of college basketball, I really prefer NBA. Even still, it was really fun to just go!!

This week is Steve's birthday and we are both taking the day off to spend together. So we are looking forward to that!!

Home Room Makeover

Our upstairs loft is finally finished! Steve and I bought these sage green couches when we first moved into our townhouse (which was like 2 1/2 years ago) and ever since I bought them I have hated them! It was just one of those purchases that you are so excited about and then you get them home and just don't like them at all. So I delt with them for 2 years and I tried different paint colors and different decorations and different other furniture pieces. Well, Steve and I decided that it was high time to get some new couches. So in October we bought a new sectional for the room. We have been really busy the last couple of months and we just got around to repainting the room over the break. But I absolutely loved the way it turned out!
Here are what it looked like before...

And after...

We also got a new dvd case to go behind our couch- and even has huge as it is, I have to admit that all of my movies and seasons did not fit!! We still have one of our old ones completely filled with movies in the closet!!

3 Amazing Years

Today marks Steve and I's three year wedding anniversary! We were married on Tuesday, January 3rd in the Denver temple. It was a beautiful and sunny Colorado day and it was the best day of my life.

Steve is the best husband any girl could ask for- he is helpful, sensitive, hard working, complimentary, loving, spiritual, reliable, funny, positive, and he is going to be a wonderful dad sometime! I am so grateful to have Steve in my life! For the last year and a half Steve has been working and going to school full time. On a typical week, Steve works 50-55 hours, goes to school, does homework, helps me around the house, and finds time to be with me! It is hard for me to spend so much time alone, but I am thankful that I have such a motivated husband.

Steve and I had a relaxing day today. We slept in and then Steve made me a delicious breakfast with an orange julius (my favorite!). After getting ready we did some things around the house and then went to the craft store. Since we've gone out to dinner so many times this week we decided to stay in and make another recipe from the Food Network- it was as equally as good as the last. We made cookies together and rented a movie we are about to watch! What a wonderful 3 years- I can't wait for the rest of eternity!

Happy New Year

2008 was definately a great year for Steve and I. Not only did we spend another wonderful year being married but we had some fun. We both got to go home to Colorado and Washington for a while, went on some great trips to Vegas, Moab, and the Oregon coast. I graduated in April and finished up my 1st year of teaching and started my 2nd. Steve worked super hard as usual and got a lot done in school and work. We also got two new adorable nephews this year!

Steve and I had a nice and relaxing New Years Eve. We went to the mall and did a little shopping and went to dinner at Red Robin. Then we came home and had milkshakes and watched like 4 episodes of the Next Food Network star. Overall it was a great night!

Yesterday, we did a little more shopping and went to Best Buy and got TiVo (for those of you who know me, you will know that I am one person that will actually save time having this) and I can't wait. On Monday I have like 5 shows with two hours of time and know I won't miss anything! Then we went to lunch and to the Mazda dealership to look around. Last night we made these delicious chicken taquitos from Guy's Big Bite (Steve's favorite show!) and watched our new movie Eagle Eye. We are certainly looking forward to another wonderful year!

Christmas Day

We had such a wonderful and relaxing Christmas day- we got to sleep in until about 8:30 and then we gathered up all of our presents and our stockings and headed to Becca's house. It was definately not calm and quiet during present opening with a 4 year old and 2 year old- but it was a blast! Both Steve and I got some very nice gifts and were very blessed! Steve got lots of new clothes, a book he had been wanting, some movies, and some new Jordan shoes! I got a new jackets, some cute boots, a new sweater, a purse, new silverware, and some new seasons of shows!

After that Steve and I went home to rest and get ready for the day. We watched the Suns vs. Spurs game which was intense since I love the Spurs and Steve loves the Suns. Don't worry- in the end my Spurs won!

Then we got ready for Becca, Jesse, Luke, and Livi to come for dinner... which was amazing! We had London broil, mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans, asparagus, oriental salad, and I made delicious chocolate cream pie!
Steve and I have been extremely blessed this year and have been grateful for another wonderful year together!

Christmas Eve...

This year Steve and I decided to stay in Utah for Christmas. Since Steve is the manager at work, he really couldn't take the time off this year (they are growing and doing alot of new things right now and he needs to be there). It was sad because this is the first year in my entire life that I haven't been with my parents on Christmas. But we have actually enjoyed ourselves because it has been a wonderful time to relax! Steve was super busy at work last week and he finishing up finals and I was sick at the end of last week and over the weekend.

Although, we couldn't be with my parents we did get to spend some awesome and fun time with my sister and her family. Last night, we went over to their house and had a Christmas eve fondue party. We had steak, chicken, shrimp, onion rings, and deep fried mushrooms. To say the least, it was all amazing.

After cookies and eggnog the kids went to bed we sat around and watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and put together all of the toys from Santa for Luke and Livi. Overall, it was a great way to spend our Christmas Eve and I wasn't even lonely.

Winter is Definitely Here...

This past week we have really been dumped on! On Monday, I couldn't even get out of the garage to get my hair done. It doesn't help that our house is near the mouth of Spanish Fork canyon and we are the side of the street where ALL the snow blows. This is a bit of what we've seen recently...

In this picture, Steve got stuck trying to get into the garage and it took him 30 minutes to get his car out of the deep snow.
