Big Girl Room!

My big girl has a new big girl room!  She was completely content to stay in her crib but we needed to boot her out to get things ready for the baby :)  So we figured it would be perfect to move her right around her birthday so it was associated with being a big 3 year-old!!

I really love how it turned out- it really looks much better in person (so you'll just have to come visit to see!!).  I was originally planning on painting pink, but every shade we tested looked like some kind of pepto-bismal.  So I decided on light blue and then throw in lots of different pink accents and decorations.

She loves being in her new room!!  The first night she was pretty scared to be in their alone but after about 30 minutes she calmed down and went right to sleep.  Since then not one single problem!!  She is seriously soooooooo good... She knows she is only aloud to get out AFTER she wakes up to get books or animals.  Then she gets right back in and plays or reads until I come to get her.  We feel pretty lucky about that and hope it lasts :)

We love our sweet girl and it's so fun to see her grow up and be so excited about how big she is becoming!

Happy Birthday Hadley!!

I can't believe my baby girl is 3 (and has been for 12 days now!)!  Where did the time go and when did she get so big?!!

She woke up to a completely decorated downstairs, donuts, chocolate milk, and some new beanie babies at her seat at the table.  She was very pleased with it all :)  She kept walking around saying "Thank you for the great party mom!"

I was glad that her birthday fell on Friday this year... Steve was able to take the day off to spend it with the birthday girl!  After breakfast we headed up to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway Mall.  We'd never been and Hadley was so excited (she had been asking everyday all week if today was the day we got to go to the muzezum).  It was so fun and she looooved it!

Following the museum, we went to City Creek for lunch at Chick-Fil-A and a little walking around.

We went home, took naps, and then played and built forts until dinner.  Since we weren't having her family party until Sunday and it was her actual birthday I wanted to do something with just us!  We did cupcakes and ice cream and opened some of her presents that evening.

On Sunday evening we did dinner and cake and ice cream with my family.  My parents came into town so we were lucky to have them there (plus Hillary, Kevin, and the twins).

Hadley was certainly spoiled (what's new eh?) and loved every minute!!  We had a great weekend celebrating... We sure do love our big 3 year old!

A New Addition...

We are adding a new little boy to our family in mid-May!

I know that most of you already know this, but I wanted to start my posts of the new year this way!  I am due on May 15th and am 23 weeks along tomorrow.  We are super excited for our new little addition and so thrilled to round our family out with one of each running around!  We are also excited because we have had lots of boys born into our family in the lasy year!

How did/are you feeling?  In the very beginning (like weeks 7&8) I had some morning sickness, it wasn't bad most of the time though.  Since then things have been good, just normal pregnancy stuff.  This pregnancy has been sooooo different than with Hadley because instead of teaching 28 busy students, I'm home all day chasing a very busy soon-to-be three year old!

Is Hadley excited?  I know that she realizes that her complete mommy time, all the time is coming to and end.  She talks about baby brother and the things he'll do, where he'll sleep, what toys he'll play with but I'm not sure she understands that he will be a permanant feature of our home.  My sister just had her little boy on Saturday and Hadley adores him.  She is so soft, sweet, and gentle with Cooper... let's hope that sticks around :)

Baby Progress?  Man, I have to buy everything again!!  Steve always said that this would come back to haunt me (buying most everything pink the first time) but ahhhh....  I always honestly thought that we would have two girls first so I thought it would be farther off than this :)  But I guess I don't really mind- lots of shopping!!  Right now we have a couple of outfits, some blankets, and well, that's about it!!  Hadley is finally moving to her 'big girl room' for her birthday next month, so then we'll get started redoing the baby's room.

Names?  We're pretty sure he will either be Brenner or Giles and have Steven as his middle name.  This one was hard.  We had a definite girls name but were super unsure for a boy!

Can't think of anything else to mention :)

It's a New Year...

I have been TERRIBLE about keeping up on the blog... obviously!  But it's a new year and so that means new posts on my blog.  Part of the reason I'm so behind is the more behind I got the less motiviated I got to update.  So I'm starting my posts from the neary- you will just have to imagine all the fabulous things we did in September-December :)

Summer Wraps Up

I haven't decided how I feel about summer ending.  I love fall but I will miss the time at the pools, in the sprinklers and at the river!  But I am excited about being able to go the park after 9 am without frying, playing in the leaves, and cookin all sorts of yummy fall dishes!

Here are some of the ways we've spent the end of our summer!

Parking playing and duck feeding up in Orem...

Visiting my sister and the cute babies up in Salt Lake...

One of last chances to play in the pool and with water, but it wasn't warm enough to have suits on...

Picnics on the family room floor...

Livi's soccer games and Luke's football games...

Spending hours in the beautiful fall weather blowing bubbles and drawing with sidewalk chalk...

Ready or not here comes fall!!
