Crazy Corn Maze!!

On Thursday night a bunch of families from our ward headed up to South Jordan to the Crazy Corn Maze. It was a bit of a drive but so fun and so worth it! Plus one of the ladies from our ward sister owns it so it was practically free! A bunch of us met at a nearby pumpkin patch first to take some cute pictures and get some pumpkins.
So I apologize for the pictures but with people all over, tractors driving up and down, and everything else going on we could NOT get Hadley to even glance in the direction of the camera more than once or twice.

Mostly she was interested in eating the hay... yummy, yummy!

Seriously whatever anyone tried we she wouldn't look!!

Then we headed to the maze for some dinner beforehand.

Loved the time being with my little family! And loved that Steve was not at work or school!

Aspen

So last weekend my whole family met in Aspen, Colorado for a quick trip with everyone there! With our family there is always garunteed laughs and entertainment and this trip did not fail to please!
We didn't meet in Aspen until Friday but our family and Becca's wanted to extend the trip by a day. So we got up early on Thursday to spend the first day in Glenwood Springs. Have you ever stayed in a hotel room with 4 adults, a 6 year-old, a 3 year-old, a 1 year-old, and an 8 month old? Can we say interesting and non-stop craziness!
Hadley quite enjoyed herself at the diner in Glenwood Springs! I didn't get any picture of us at the Hot Springs pool, but if I had the picture would have looked like Hadley trying to drink the disgusting sulfur water while the rest of were trying to keep our mouths as far away as possible!

So after dinner we headed over to the Hotel Colorado to check out the ghosts. This is a old hotel that is supposed to be haunted and has lots of stories of ghost sitings. Luke was so scared the entire time (for real) and just wanted to go, go, go!

Steve checkin' out the penthouse level where the little girl chased her ball off the top and fell to her death. He wouldn't go any farther than about half way up those stairs!

Hadley had blowout at dinner all over the back of her little dress so Steve would only carry her like this! And yes we went into the bathroom to clean it up before this but I guess it didn't matter to him!

Group photo in the hotel.

So we got a private tour of the basement and attic from a maintenance guy. Steve is sitting in the exact chair where a main hung himself like 100 years ago in the attice. Why he wanted this picture who knows?

Our first evening in Aspen- walking to dinner at a famous diner!

Kiddos all bundled up!

Hadley woke up at 5:30 on Saturday morning and would not go back to sleep. Since we were in a lodge and didn't want to wake everyone up so we got her out to be in bed with us. This is what she looked like about 7:15... completely exhausted!!

Cousins lovin' on Hadley- Foxx and Fiona loved her!

Getting ready for a family hike! It was pretty cold so Hadley was COMPLETELY bundled in her winter gear- doesn't that look comfy?! Not really!

Foxx- cutest little boy EVER!! I love his cute little personality!

I got freezing so Ashton lent me his vest!

The whole Gardner family!

This is what it looks like when we try to take a cousin's picture...
We went to the John Denver memorial (don't ask me why they made this?!). Steve is singing (way off tune I might add) here to Hadley, he can be quite strange at times :)

We love Aspen- gorgeous isn't it?

It was a great and relaxing weekend filled with lots of eating, shopping, and family game playing! I love my family!

Fun With Friends

Hadley and I have been having so much fun lately with all of our little friends! Luckily I have so many friends with babies or little children so that Hadley ALWAYS has someone to play with- although I am not sure how much playing they ever actually do together.
Today we got to go be with my friend Jessica and her little boy Jarom. It was so funny to take this picture because for some reason he did not want Hadley touching him! Every time she would crawl to his half of the couch he would get off. He better get used to it before his little brother/sister arrives in April!

We got to spend an entire day with Hadley's best little friends (and cousins) Max and Livi. It was hilarious to watch the three of them fight over Hadley's new walker toy. We also got to go on a walk, have a tea party, and pull both babies off of the stairs MANY times!

We went to eat lunch at the Springville library with Kelsie & Landon and our friend Shaunie. She didn't really get to play since Landon can't get out of his carseat but she liked looking at him and touching him!

We were so excited when Jane & Cami came to town and we got to play. Of course we invited Ily & Dex! How fun and cute are these three?

Both Hadley and I are lucky to have so many great friends close! They definitely fill up our time!

Ghetto

I honestly am embarrassed to even put these pictures up! And even more embarrassed that this is what my daughter's crib looks like for the next 5-7 business days:

Yes, you are seeing correctly- those are kitchen towels covering the crib! Hadley has decided that her new past time is biting the sides of her crib. Ahhhhhhhhhh!! She has been pulling herself up in there for a while now but apparently has just learned that the sides of her crib are a new and different thing to chew on. The sad thing is that on Friday I was telling Steve that she was going to start chewing it and then to my dismal surprise I went in the next morning to find the whole side bitten. So until my rail coverings come from Amazon next week Hadley is sleeping in ghettoness!
Learn a lesson... To all my friends out there with babies coming close to standing or biting- BEWARE!

Book Review

I love all this free time that I have to read! In the past couple of weeks I have read so many good books that I thought I would share in case anyone was looking for something to read. Of course I read the awesome Hunger Games trilogy, which were so good and I wish they would make them into a movie!
But my FAVORITE series I have read in a long time is the Uglies, Pretties, and Specials trilogy. My friend Susan let me borrow the first two about a month ago but I thought they would be some of those books that I would never actually read. Well I thought my sister borrow the first one and she loved it so I tried and also loved it! They are such a fast read because I just wanted to keep going. Highly recommended!!

And of course some adorable pictures of little Hadley! I just can't get enough of her!!

Yes, she has learned how to go up stairs (she only can get to the first two and then seems to not have an interest to go farther). We cannot take our eyes off of her for one minute!!

Loves her new toy!!

I was watching my season of Brothers & Sisters and on the menu page there is these leaves that float across the screen and she is so enthralled by them she just sits (or stands like here) and stares at them!

She learned today to pull herself up one the glass door and loves to just stand or kneel and look outside.

Hadley had just fallen and hit her head so I was lucky she would actually cuddle with me! I loved it!

Small Victories

So part of being a mom I decided is reveling in the small successes of your baby! Well we had victory - although small - at our house today! Since I have been home with Hadley and no longer teaching she has gotten in this napping habit. If she ever wakes up in the middle of her nap or after like an hour (which doesn't happen very often) then she NEVER EVER EVER will go back to sleep no matter how tired she may be. I have just faced the reality that if she wakes up early she will just have to have some rest time in there without actually sleeping. Trust me, this was a hard reality to come to with me being so obsessed with her sleeping schedule.
Well, today I am sitting on the couch reading and I here her kind of fussing after only 45 minutes. I thought to myself, "You have got to be kidding me! Here's to a loooong night." To my wonderful surprise after about 15 minutes it got really quiet in her room so I went to check on her. She was back asleep. So that was the first time she has fallen back asleep (for 2 more hours) after waking up mid-nap in over 4 months!!
So here's to very small victories that make my day!
