Addicted...

...Well, with what free time I do have!
So here is how my reading addiction started. I came back to school after being on maternity leave for 8 weeks and I had this group of boys in my class who were really into reading these Percy Jackson books. I knew what the books were and to be honest I had no interest in reading books about Olympic Gods. So we finished our read aloud book and it was time to choose another one as a class. So we voted and of course the boys convinced the class to choose the first Percy Jackson book. So I begin reading outloud to the class and I am kind of lost (I've noticed when I read chapter books outloud I don't do a very good job of actually listening to what I am reading). So I decided to go home and read ahead of the class so I can know what is going to happen and what to be prepared for. The first night I read 200 pages! Ok, so I know they are kind of for kids but they are so good!
So I finish the first book way before the class even gets to page like 30 reading it aloud. My boys convince me to read the second, so I do... and to make a long story short I have read the last 4 books in the last 2 weeks!
So if you have any free time and are interested in a easy and entertaining (and sad, I will admit a few tears were shed) read, go for it! And to tell you how good they really are, I finally convinced Steve to read the first one so we could buy the movie when it comes out on DVD. He stayed up until 1 in the morning the first night reading because he said it was so good! And for those of you who know Steve getting him to read anything that isn't doctrinal is quite the feat!

Hadley's Nursery

I don't know why I haven't posted these any time before in the last 4 months but here they are. Plus Hadley finally has some books in her room since I brought them home from my classroom. Lucky for her the books in those whiteshelves are maybe like a fourth of what I have! Enjoy the pictures!

Weekend in Review

We had quite the busy and fun weekend so I thought I would share! Saturday was mostly filled with Steve and I doing lots of yard work- but after Hadley nap we went down the park to play tennis! After we played a couple of games in the hot, hot, sunny weather we went on a walk down the river trail.

The look on her face is hilarious like "Mom, what the heck are we doing?!"

So cute!!

She was absolutely loving watching the leaves blow in the trees above us! Can you tell?

In her sunhat to keep the sun out of her little eyes!
The sun wears this little girl out!
Sunday we went to church and then all the family game over for dinner! After delicious pork tacos we watched the Celtics beat the Lakers- one of the best parts of my weekend!

Cousin Livi lovin' on Hadley!

Mommy and me!

Daddy's Favorite Little Lady

All I can say is that this little girl absolutely loves her daddy! Her eyes light up and she gets so talkative and squealy when he is around talking to her! And of course he loves her back just as much!!

Warm Weather!

Both Hadley and I are excited that it is finally warm enough for her to wear her summer clothes! Let's be honest, this chunky monkey outgrew her 0-3 month clothes quite a while ago!!

A New Beginning...

It's official- I am completely done with school... at least for quite a few years! Thursday was the last day of school, which means I am officially a stay at home mom!
I must admit that it will be an adjustment and quite the change to get used to, but I am looking forward to spending all my time with my little precious girl! After I went back to school from maternity leave it took awhile to used to it- not being at home with Hadley all day, having to drop her off at my sister's each morning, back doing school work, going non-stop all day long. But after some time, I really got used to working and having a baby. I absolutely loved teaching and being with those kids all day, therefore Thursday was a tough day filled with mixed feelings. Many tears were shed- mine and theirs (oh how I love them!!), but now I am ready to be home!
After school on Thursday we had a staff lunch where they said goodbye to the teachers that were leaving. We had to get up and give a favorite memory of our time at the school. I couldn't think of just one so I said two big ones. Definitely my team that I teach with- those girls are my best friends! And of course each day with my kids, never a dull moment there!
So here I go to a different and more rewarding full time job...

Classic Hadley picture pose...

Reading to 1 three month old instead of 25 eight year olds... quite different :)

How could I not want to be at home with this adorable thing all day!!

Little Friends

Last week my friends Ily and Cami came over so our babies could finally meet! Little Jane, Dexter and Hadley had quite the time together! Dex really liked the girls and loved Hadley- he kept putting her hands in his mouth and getting really close to her. Well, as soon as we moved her we learned that he really was just trying to get over her by rolling!! Dex is about two months older than Hadley and Jane and the little girls are only 18 hours apart! Both little girlies look like their daddies- they were so cute!!
Cami and I know that Jane and Hadley were friends before they came down and they planned to come down together :)

It really was so fun to watch them! Dex was so smiley, Jane wouldn't take her eyes of Cami, and Hadley was just very curious as to what was happening, her eyes were darting from one person to the next!
We can't wait for our next play group- hopefully thier newest little friend Pollux can join us!
