The End of a Year Long Project...

So Steve and I have lived in our house for almost two years now- and we are finally almost complete with all of the landscaping! When we moved in the builder only put in the front yard and even there it was the bare minimum. Basically, just grass. Last year we hired a landscaper to finish the entire yard, including cutting out a bunch of new beds for us. So last year that was the main project- we planted plants in all of the beds in the front.

This year we have done so so much work to finally complete the yard! We had a patio put in, planted the rest of the beds, put in trees, and hauled so so many rocks to all of the beds. Steve is so proud of all of the work he has done and we think it looks pretty good! It's not quite finished but almost...

Our new trees in our backyard!

The bed in the front corner.

One of the side beds- with our favorite flowering pear tree!!

Our new patio! We love it- it's stamped concrete!!

Now all that's left is to get a patio set and our french door going out onto the patio!!

Annual Campout!

On Saturday Steve and I headed with Becca & Jesse and kids for our annual camping trip. We headed up Spanish Fork canyon, it took about 45 minutes to get up into the mountains and pick our spot (which was gorgeous- off the road, lots of trees, right on the river). Steve and Jesse unloaded the truck and Becca and I played with the kids. We rested a bit, went on a short hike, and began cooking dinner... the most delicious steak and potato tin foil dinners ever!

For the remainder of the night we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows, the boys played football in the river, talked around the fire, and Livi did lots of singing performances and knock knock jokes for us!

The night was pure heaven compared to last year! Steve and I bought a much bigger tent and an air mattress, which both saved my life! I never got cold and I actually slept good! In the morning we drank hot chocolate, made pancakes and sausage and got ready to go home. I can only hand one night of not great sleep without my bed and Becca can only do one night with the two kiddos!

We came home only to remember that Steve had locked his keys in his car (in the ignition). So first we stopped off at our house to see if we could break in somehow- we left unlucky to see if we could now break into the car down at Becca's house! After about an hour of trying, Steve and Jesse finally called the police to see if they could get in. The first officer had no idea what she was doing so they had to call another! How embarrassing- Steve outside with two cop cars and the whole neighborhood watching! Finally, they got in and we got ready to return home. Oh, but not quite... Steve's battery was dead! Finally, we got home to rest and of course I got sick! Well it was a great weekend- even with a few hiccups!

School's Out for the Summer!

Well, folks... school is out for the summer! Friday was the last day of school and it was a hard day to say the least. I got a little teared up during the end of year slide show I created for my class but as they were leaving at the very end I lost it (along with about 7 students, including 2 boys :)). This has been an amazing year with such wonderful students- I couldn't have asked for a better class. They were so much fun, so smart, and filled with so much personality! Although I am sad I am glad for a break- even though I am doing summer reading groups twice a week. I have several projects planned around the house and of course getting ready for next year! I won't have a whole lot to do so come visit if you get bored!!

Graduation Time!

I only wish that I was posting this to say that Steve graduated this week- but that's not the case, soon, but not quite yet! Seeing how as I graduated a year ago- that leaves one option, well... my nephew. On Wednesday evening my little nephew, Luke, graduated from preschool. It is so funny that they make such a big deal about graduation in all these grades. But it was fun! They all wore cap and gowns and put on a short program. It was fascinating to watch but it reminded me that I only have 3 1/2 more days with my own kids until our small (very small- just me and them) graduation. This has been an absolutely amazing year and I am definintely not ready to give this group up. Well, anyway, here are some pictures from Wednesday...
Livi and I during the program!

Livi was definitely enjoying that drink I brought her- she literally chugged it!!

Luke saying his part about being a fireman when he grows up.

Not looking to interested up there...

He is getting so big! Looking cute in is cap & gown!

Kelsie & Garrett's Wedding

On Tuesday (May 12th) my best friend Kelsie got married! It was such a wonderful and I was so happy that I got to share it with her. Steve and I were invited to the sealing which was in the Bountiful Temple. Neither of us had ever been to that temple before and it was absolutely beautiful. We both took the day off and headed up for the temple at about 10:30. The sealing was at 12:15 and it was wonderful and I was grateful to share it with them. I loved remembering our wedding day 3 1/2 years ago and what a wonderful day that was!

Steve and I while we were waiting for Kelsie & Garrett to come out of the temple!

The flowers at the temple were gorgeous!!

I only was able to get a couple of pictures of Kelsie & Garrett when they came out because 1- my battery died and 2- Steve and I had to leave pictures early to get home to meet our landscaper. But they did look wonderful!

We loved being able to share this unforgettable day with them!!

Girls Night In!

Last Friday I got to spend an entire night with my very best friends in the world! Since Kelsie is getting married next week, we (Kelsie, Sara, Shaunelle & Rachel- minus Holly :() all met up in Alpine for dinner and a movie. It was so fun to spend the night with the girls and just to relax and talk about old times!

Currently...

We don't have any really exciting news going on around here so I thought I would do what some of my friends have done and share some other things about me right now.
Currently, I LOVE...
Strawberry Shortcake!! Steve and I made some for our Sunday dinner with my sister on Sunday and now I can't get enough. I know its not the healthiest thing for me but I just can't seem to resist that sweet and juicy goodness sitting down in my fridge!!

The Spurs!! I know that they aren't doing all that well right now but I am a true blood fan in rain or shine. I just love Tony Parker (yes, I will admit that it started with his wife Eva Longoria who stars in one of my favorite shows Desperate Housewives)!! Last night I watched the entire broadcast of Michael Jordan getting inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame just to see the interviews with Tony Parker :)

I have to always currently be watching a season of somekind. Currently I have cycled back through to my old favorite Dawson's Creek- sometimes it's a bit dumb but overall I love it!! Hehehehe...

The fact that my plan book is completely filled and planned for the rest of the year!! It's a little strange because I come home and really have no work to do and since I'm a bit of a workaholic it's going to take some getting used to. I really take time planning my lessons and activities and work hard to make sure my class is learning but having fun. I love my class so much this year!!

This season of America's Next Top Model is amazing! I didnt really love last season and therefore went into this season with a bit of hesitance, but it really is so good. You should watch it!!

This is the first season that I have watched and I only did so because Melissa from The Bachelor is on it. Oh but you know it- I have another show to add my weekly schedule (Steve just loves that). I love Melissa- she is amazing! I also really like Ty Murray and Shawn Johnson!

The beautiful weather we had yesterday and today! It is wonderful and I have only been waiting forever! We took our classes outside to get them ready for our annual Hershey Track Meet and it was so fun to think that I get to stop spending so much time in the classroom with them and begin doing the really fun stuff. It was also nice that Steve and I got to spend some time together this evening picking weeds... how fun ;)
