BYU on the Bus

Last week Becca and I took the kids up to BYU- but we rode the bus! We both used to ride the bus all the time and we thought they would enjoy it! Well, they did... Hadley would just stand and look out the window and bounce up and down and laugh. We ate lunch at the CougarEat and did a little shopping (more like looking) at the bookstore.
-
Waiting for the bus to come and get us!

Sad that I didn't get a picture of Hadley on the bus. But here she is during lunch, completely fascinated by the TONS of students walking around!

Livi got tired after visiting Hillary at work at the ASB so this is how she rode of a while! Hadley loved every second of it!

Overall a pretty fun way to spend a nice sunny morning! Only when I was there did I realize that I didn't enjoy that place (college meaning) and I am glad I am done!

At Our House...

You will probably see...
-
New recipes being tried! We LOVE the Food Network and Steve is always wanting to be creative and try new things. These are Guy Fieri's chicken taquitos, two words... pure heaven :)
Our stroller out alot! The weather has been gorgeous this week and Hadley and I have been enjoying a daily afternoon walk.

The cutest little girl that you EVER did see! She is usually too busy getting into things, crawling everything, and being much to funny to stop for the camera.

The tv turned to ESPN or TNT or whatever channel is playing an NBA game that night. Although we usually stick to our favorites- Spurs (mine), Celtics (mine), and Heat (Steve's). And to be honest I don't even mind how much time our tv spends on these channels.

Packages arriving at our house what seems like almost daily! I am working on Christmas shopping and I'm actually almost done!

One car in our garage :( Steve has been given/taken alot of new responsibilities at work and is gone all the time. He leaves about 6 every morning and the majority of nights (3 out of 5) isn't home until about 8 after school. Whew! How he does it I don't know! But of course Hadley and are grateful for his hard work and dedication, we just wish it wasn't just the two of us all the time!

Happy Halloween!

Yay for Hadley's first Halloween! Despite the nasty weather we still managed to have a great time and I think Hadley enjoyed her first major holiday :)
-
Here is our cute little kitty! I don't like cats but I think I'll definitely keep this one...

After pictures of our vampire, firefighter, rodeo princess, and kitty we headed to trunk or treat with Becca, Jesse, and all the kids. We only stayed for a short while and luckily got out before the hail pounded down!

After trunk or treat the three of us headed up to Provo for dinner. We went to Red Robin and then faced the crowds of trick or treaters to do a little shopping, and course only Hadley got anything!

Sunday was kind of a busy day- church, home teachers, meetings, and then a fun Halloween themed dinner at Beccas!
-
Look at this cute table and delicious pumpkin bread bowls!

While the rest of ate cake and ice cream, Max and Hadley played in the dish washer and with Uncle Kevin!

Happy (late) Halloween everyone!

Pumpkin...

... Shaving! Oh wait, isn't it called pumpkin carving?! Not in Steve's book! We followed through with our yearly tradition and carved pumpkins with my sister and her family. Well, Steve always entertains and did it again with another slightly different version of shaved pumpkin. We enjoyed time with family, some delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and some ice cold root beer!

Becca and Livi carved "Cat and the Hat Knows All About That." Livi could never just call it Cat and the Hat!

The whole group hard at work!

Luke lovin' on Hadley- yes she is about to cry because she had just fallen over!

So Livi's favorite thing to do is take Hadley up to her room and shut the door to have some good 'girl time.' Who knows what they do up there?! Ok that makes me sound like a bad mom but Liv is a great little babysitter and Hadley loves to be up there with her! This time I snuck some pictures...

Then a little later we realized that Liv had gotten her stamps out. This is how the conversation went-

Becca- "We can't play stamps with babies Liv."
Me- "Did you put any stamps on Hadley?"
Livi- "No..."
Livi again- "Well just a couple on her cheeks."

Yes, Steve shaved his pumpkin with a cheese grater...

At the end of the night Hadley was tired and very content on snuggling with me and sucking on a bead necklace- Oh the simple things in life!

Look forward to another shaved pumpkin next year!

Sick Day... Oh I Mean Week!

Hadley has had this nasty cold since Saturday so I didn't take her out of the house until yesterday (and that was only to go to Becca's to play for awhile). She was miserable Saturday and Sunday but since has just had this icky icky nose! That may seem a little extreme but I didn't want this to turn into a cold that she will have ALL winter. So yes Saturday -Thursday inside made for quite a long week. But we did plently of things to fill our time!
-
We played lots and lots with all of our toys!
We played on the computer...

We shared some snacks...

We kept our normal routine- breakfast, playtime, nap, playtime, lunch, playtime, nap, playtime, dad comes home, dinner, playtime, bed. Rinse and repeat again!

Hadley helped me put all her new clothes away...

Hadley helped me get ready for my Cub Scout Pack Night last night (don't worry I don't let my daughter play with large bags of trash, it's bags of popcorn for our carnival)...

We read alot of books...

And we spent alot of time taking silly pictures and looking at oursleves in the mirror...

I have to admit that it's kind of a long week but I always love with my little girl!
