Summertime Fun!!

We have certainly been enjoying our summer thus far!!  It's been so nice to not really have a care in the world aside from my tutoring.  Oh yea, I got a tutoring job in April and am currently tutoring 3 hours a week.  Other that those 3 hours each week, Steve, Hadley, and I have been living up this hot Utah summer!!

How have we been spending our time?  With...

... trips to play/swim in the river...

...baths with Max after playing the ashes of our patio fireplace (whoops, guess we should have checked on them more often!!)...

...play time with gak and fingerpainting on those windy mornings...

...lots of playing with cousins...

...Hadley's definite favorite, anything outside and with water (and bugs, she is showing me her rolly pollies that she found!!)...

...eating pizza in the backyard with her favorite 3 little people...

...evenings at the splash pad playing with daddy...

...and lunchtime tea parties in the backyard, including jelly sandwiches, mandarin oranges, raisins, crackers and cookies...

Isn't life just grand when you have a 2 year old and lots of free time????????!!!!!!!!!!!

Girls' Trip to Las Vegas

The day after school got out (May 26) my mom and sisters and I headed off to Vegas for a 4 day girls trip!!  We originally planned on going to San Francisco but decided against that with Hillary being 7 months pregnant and all!  It was tough for me to leave my little lady for 4 days but I knew she was in good hands with her daddy!

We stayed at a really nice resort, Tahiti Village, a couple miles off the strip.  Although I really love the strip but it was nice to be a little farther away from all the crowds and party goers :)

We spent a good deal of time at the pool and lazy river which was quite relaxing!

The first night we got there my mom took us to see Phantom- it was Auuuuhhhh-mazing!  I loved it!!

We spent some time on the strip visiting the standard tourist places and walked alot of the hotels.  I just love Vegas (Steve thinks that's really strange) so I just enjoyed being there and seeing everything again!

The last day there we went shopping at the outlets, ate some more delicious food, and saw the water show at the Belagio.

It really was a great trip and the perfect way to relax after a SUPER busy month of May!  Thanks to my mom for taking us and to Steve for playing both mom and dad while I was gone :)

Visitors!!!

A day and half after I got home from Vegas (that post to come), we had visitors!!  I LOVE visitors!!  Tori, Tim, Mylin, and Kale came to stay with us for the night on their way to a wedding!  We seriously had the best time and the girls were really cute together..

The evening that they arrived we headed up to Provo to eat at Tucano's!  It was delicious of course and Hadley enjoyed the salad bar filled with olives :)  Afterwards we walked around a bit and the let the girls play the water fully clothed... yes, we are those parents!! By the time we left, they were both completely soaked!!

When we got home it was already bedtime so Hadley and Mylin played a little and then got ready for bed.  For some reason, Hadley thought it was really neat that they brushed their teeth at the same time!

After the girls went down, we built a fire in our pit on our back porch and had smores.  Kale slept through it and we just sat around talking- which I love!!  I promise that their were adults and a baby, I just didn't get any pictures of anyone but Hadley and Mylin.

After a late night we drug ourselves out of bed in the morning and headed up to Kneader's for breakfast.  We waited a while for Tori's brother to show up so there was free time to play.

Before they had to go to Richfield we went to BYU to visit the bookstore and walk around a bit.  Both Tori and I were trying to get ONE cute picture of the girls, but had no success!

Thanks for making the extra drive to come visit guys!!  So excited for our trip to California to visit you guys in August :)  Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hadley Update

Our little Hadley is just growing up too fast!  I tell ya this one is FULL of personality, zip, energy and craziness!!   I know most of you won't make it through this but I want the update for myself, so sorry... :)

A friend in my ward took these pictures and some of them turned out so cute!  But it was seriously like putting on a circus behind the camera to get these shots!

Here are some of Hadley's major accomplishments and characteristics at 28 (almost) months:

- she can count to 12 and sometimes get correctly to twenty, she can also can backwards from 6 down to 1

- she can recognize, point out, and name about 22 of the 26 letters in the alphabet (we're struggling with N, the difference between U and V, and W)

- she knows the mommy and max starts with m without looking, daddy starts with d, steve, sheep, and spider start with s, jesse and jellybean start with j, becca starts with b, luke and livi start with l, pooh. piglet, and pink start with p, owl starts with o, roo and rabbit start with r, and of course that Hadley starts with H (she probably knows more I just can think of them)

- the picture below shows her facial expression 75% of the time, people always say, "Oh she looks so concerned!"  Nope just her normal cute little face!

- isn't always asking to watch Pooh anymore, probably asks often for Word World or Super Why, she also likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Doc McStuffins

- is a complete water rat!!

- knows and sings along with alot of primary songs and pretty much all the nursery rhymish type of songs (Itsy Bitsy Spider, Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle  Twinkle, etc)

 - FINALLY is loving going to nursery every Sunday!!

- Still will not eat any fruit that does not come from a can :(  Augh!!

- Still sleeps in her crib, I see absolutely no reason to move her when she has NEVER remotely tried to climb out and is perfectly content to be in there

- goes to bed around 7:30, falls asleep around 8:30, and gets up anywhere between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning

- consistently naps from about 1 to 3:30ish

 - Favorite foods include: otter pops, ice cream, chips, goldfish crackers, hot dogs, fried eggs, flavored rice, waffles with whip cream, olives, cauliflower, broccli, green beans, and peas

- wears size 6 shoes, 3T tops, and 2T bottoms

 - loves all animals, playing in rocks and dirt, and running wild through the yard

- Hadley is really happy about 98% of the time, rarely throws tantrums, and is soooooooo good to say please and thank you

I haved loved watching these two develop into little best friends over the last 9 months.  She wants to be just like Max and do anything he does.  They are more like siblings than cousins and therefore fight and bicker but it's just so fun to watch them together.

This picture is my favorite, it was like they didn't even know each other and could not sit near one another.

Love these little buddies!!!

We are sure proud of all the great things that Hadley can do and how much she is growing!
