I love nice warm weekends spent with my little family!!!

Blowing bubbles while Steve and I do yard work is a definite favorite around here...

BBQ in the backyard under the hot sun...

Feeding the ducks and turtles at BYU...

Heading up to campus to walk around and have a picnic lunch...

Roasting ooey gooey marshmallows in our new fire pit...

And best of all, enjoying the smores we made....

Spring Break!!

Last week was Spring Break for me at school so I got to spend the whole week home and it was wonderful!!  I have to keep reminding myself that I only have 5 more weeks left until I can do that forever!!

We had some gorgeous and warm weather at the beginning of the week so we spent alot of time outside!  We stuck close to home Monday and Tuesday because I had a nasty cold and sore throat so I didn't feel great.

One evening we went and played tennis and to the park and Hadley loved it!  She was just chasing all the balls around the court!!  Then she decided she wanted to be a cat- she spent like 10 minutes crawling around the court meowing!!

Here's her crawling and meowing.. quite the little imagination!!

We did venture out on Tuesday and we picked up our friends Kelsie and Landon and went up the BYU Bean Museum.  Of course I forgot to bring my camera but Hadley loves that place no matter how many times we go!!  By the end Hadley and Landon we running around together having fun!!

She's also become quite the helper in the kitchen!  I'll be doing something and she'll just push the chair right over and get up to help.  It's usually fun to have her help when she's not sneaking the food.  The other day I was using butter out of a tub and it was almost gone.  I was cooking on the stove and I look over a few minutes later and she had licked the entire tub clean- yea gross, I know!!  But ask anyone in my family, Hadley's favorite food hands down is butter!!

Thursday she helped me make blueberry muffins for some friends in our ward and for my friend Debrah who had a new baby (who we got to visit also!!).

Thursday and Friday the weather was kinda crumby so we stuck to indoor activities.  Steve took Friday off and we went with Becca and Jesse and kids up to the aquarium in Sandy.  Hadley went when she was 5 months old but is now getting to the perfect age to LOVE these type places!

She only wanted to play in the water until she saw the sting rays, then she had no interest in putting her hands in there!!

I can't wait for all my weeks to be so activity packed!!

Easter Weekend

We had a fantastic Easter weekend!  It started off with the city egg hunt!!  Of course the ground was covered with like 5 inches of snow and it was freezing (which we weren't exactly prepared for).  But Hadley had a grand time despite the cold!  Last year she was a little unsure of what to do and this year she went all in!!  The city asks that you only get like 5 eggs but I think Hadley ended up with like 15... whoops!!

Since she was only in the same age group as Max we met up with Luke and Livi to check out everyone's loot!!

Saturday evening we dyed eggs at Becca's and Hillary and Kevin came too!  Hadley was also really into this and of course ended up cracking or breaking most of our eggs.  Oh well, all I cared about is that she had fun!

The Easter Bunny came to visit and hid some eggs but we decided to wait until after church to do all of that so we would have more time to enjoy it!  I seriously only got like one or two pictures of Hadley before church in her cute Easter dress :(  I don't know how anyone does it but she won't ever smile for the camera and WILL NOT hold still long enough for me to get a picture!

Everyone came for dinner evening and it was great end to a great weekend!!

Asthma

So apparently my child has asthma.

Here's the story...    Hadley has had this persistent cough for like 8 weeks.  It went away for about a weeks time in there somewhere but other than that has sadly stuck around.  It really wasn't bad at all during the day but would get reallly bad at night- I felt like we had a newborn again, either Steve or I would get up with her several times a night to help!  I feel like we tried everything I could think of or read about- cough syrup, honey with lemon, tylenol, not taking her out, steamy bathrooms, humidifier... seriously so many things.  So I finally decided (or my mom did) that it wasn't normal to have the awful cough for two months.  We headed to the doctor and after ruling out several other things he thinks Hadley has asthma :(  I didn't even know coughing was an effect of asthma, but apparently 1/3 of childhood ashtma is the coughing kind.

The doctor doesn't think she will have it forever (I'm honestly not even sure I believe that's what it is) but in order to get her over this he prescribed her an inhaler.  So she has to use this twice a day for a while and see what the effect is.  So far it has made much of a difference but the doctor did say it would take a few weeks- so for now we are stuck with the coughing that is getting midly better very slowly.  I was worried that she wouldn't do very well with it and freak out.  But I think since Max also has one for his asthma (common, eh?), it probably seems normal to her and she sits there and takes her deep breaths like the doctor told her to!

But honestly should a two year have to do this twice a day for an extensive period of time?

So for now my little girl has asthma but is still as busy, active, wild and occasionally naughty as ever despite this persistent cough!!

Grammy Visits!!

This last week my mom and Fiona came to Utah to visit for several days.  Hadley loves her grammy and grew to LOVE Fiona (who she calls Oni).  We didn't go out and do a whole lot but we stayed busy playing outside, visiting the library, visits to Artic Circle, and eating yummy food!

One morning Fiona was doing her daily reading for school and she decided to read to Hadley.  It was so sweet and Hadley loved it!!

We did ride the bus up to BYU one day.  We at lunch at the CougarEat and then munched on donuts and brownies as we wandered around campus for a while.  The pictures from the bus didn't turn out so good because of the bright sun :(

All the kids loved the wide open space to run and wander and I loved the gorgeous weather and sun!!

These two kept sneaking away to play in the dirt!  Yes, I'm still wishing Hadley would be a little more girly and a little less wild and determined to get dirty!!

It was a pretty quick visit for my mom and Fiona but we enjoyed every minute!
