Last Week

Don't you love it when you feel like you had a great week?!  We had lots of fun last week!!

Hadley got her hair cut and done by a girl in my ward.  I looked at her and seriously thought, "What happened to my baby?  She looks so old!"  But I thought she looked so cute!  Whenever I try to curl her hair like this it doesn't turn out too well because she has too much natural curl.  But Whitney did it with her Chi straightener, so I bought one (actually I've wanted one for a long time!).  So maybe you'll see these fancy do's more often :)

We had a lunch/playdate with Ily, Cami, Susan and I!  It was so fun for all of us to be together, especially since we spent so much time just the 4 of us our intern year.  Dexter and Hadley ran around like WILD monkeys while we waited for everyone to arrive.

The kids enjoyed macaroni, grapes, cupcakes, and played in the pool while we had some yummy Jimmy Johns.

This last week Hadley has really found some indepedence.  We still do lots of playing together but this last week she just wants to go into her room and play by herself.  Today she played in there for almost 45 minutes!  Plus, it is soooooooooo cute to listen to her talk to herself and her babies!!

Can't wait for many many more great weeks!!

Colorado Fun

We went for our annual summer trip to Colorado July13 -19!  We had a great time and stayed pretty busy while we were there!

We got up early and packed (literally jammed) 4 kids and carseats and 2 adults into the car!

The kids spent a ton of time in the hot tub and in my parents backyard!  Hadley really wouldn't get into the water- I don't know if it was too warm (even though she takes pretty hot baths) or that she was still hesitant from her experience with swim lessons.

We drove up Pikes Peak one morning and kayaked on the reservoir!  Hadley thought it was so fun just to play on the 'beach' and also to go out on the kayak with me.  She kept saying, "I'll help Mommy."  Then she kept grabbing the paddle to help!  I hadn't kayaked since our cruise in 2009 but we did just fine!  Unfortunately, the clouds came in pretty fast and it started to rain so we didn't get to stay as long as we wanted to :(

We always go to the zoo, because it's my favorite!!  Hadley really liked the giraffes until one started getting a little close!  She loved the tiger and the wolves and was a little afraid of the gorillas :)  After we saw all the animals we rode the sky ride up the mountain and let the kids play up top for a while!

The last days we headed to my grandparents cabin.  Hadley really loved it this year since she's older and much more independent.  The weather was amazing- cool and cloudy!!  We went a few mini hikes, played in the treehouse, had a fire, and ate lots of yummy food.  Hadley woke up really early in the morning due to all the commotion of my grandma and uncles so we got to sleep/cuddle in bed together for a little while- I loved it because that never happens!!

July

We've had a pretty busy July and so I'm just now getting around to posting about some of things we been doing!!

A couple of weekends ago we had a BBQ with our good friends Kelsie and Garrett.  Hadley and Landon were so cute together and played the entire time.  I've honestly never seen Hadley play so well and nicely with anyone for that long!!

The next morning we met up with Kelsie, Garrett, and Landon at Seven Peaks.  I took a quick picture before we went in because I didn't want my camera lost or stolen.  But I was so sad not to get any pictures of Hadley and Landon going down the slides with their dads- so adorable!!

My parents came out for a week and they Fiona and Fox with them.  Hadley enjoyed the extra attention and extra little people to run around the house with!!

Hadley also did her first week of swimming lessons.  Sadly, she did not love them.  I think it was because on the first day the teacher dunked her completely under the water.  She never really wanted to get back in the water again!!  Oh well, we'll try again next year!!

The weather has been really mild for July so we'ven spent more time outside and not in the pool.  We've painted lots of toes and just enjoyed our free time!!
