A Quarter of a Century

So Saturday was my 25th birthday which means I am a quarter of century old- is that old? It was also my 'golden' birthday because I was turning 25 on the 25th. It was a wonderful and relaxing day, just like I wanted!!
Steve let me sleep in until 8:30 which was the first time that I've slept past like 7 in almost 8 months- it was so nice! He and Hadley made me breakfast and brought it to me in bed. Later after Hadley's morning nap Steve took Hadley with him to run errands so I could stay home and catch up on some of my shows that had premiered over the week and I had tivo'd. In the afternoon Steve went to the BYU game with Jesse so I had some girl time with Haddles. For dinner we left the kids with a babysitter and headed to Texas Roadhouse with Becca, Jesse, Hillary and Kevin. The food was amazing as always and the company was entertaining as always.

After dinner Steve and I came home and ate cake opened gifts. I was very spoiled by everyone- I got a amazing bread maker from my parents and a dust buster (sounds silly but it is really what I wanted) from my sisters. Steve gave me the newest seasons of The Office, Gossip Girl and Smallville and a brand new entire bed set for our room. I love having my birthday in September because someone can always get me seasons and easily please me. Plus it's nice to get them as a gift because that way I don't feel so bad about buying them all (at least 10 new seasons every year). I was also so surprised that he was listening to me a couple of weeks ago when I was telling him about this bed set that I wanted to get. He got the right one all by himself!! I am very blessed with such a great family and I had a wonderful day!! Thanks to everyone who helped make it so great!!

A Little of This & A Little of That

Things have been pretty busy around here lately! My parents came into town last week for Max's first birthday so we were going going going. Here are some pictures from recently!
Steve made Hadley this little fort out of couch cushions, she didn't really know what do to so she just kinda looked around...

Saturday we went to a little birthday for Max. There was a lot going on and Hadley was tired and a little overwhelmed :(

She was more interested in crawling almost naked around and playing with the balloons.

She also LOVED the wrapping paper!

She has been such a happy girl lately! But we have learned that she is VERY attached to me and VERY much a mommy's girl. It's a small problem and won't let anyone else hold or sometimes even touch her! How are we going to fix this?

We are having a great time just hanging out and playing everyday! Life is great at our house!

7 Months

I can't believe our sweet baby girl is already 7 months! I feel like she has just made so many huge changes in the past month and I am so glad that I am here everyday to see her change and grow. How sad would I be if I couldn't watch her change from a baby into a little person? She has such a personality and I enjoy every minute (almost) with her.
Now about that personality... She definitley knows what she wants and when she wants it. She is now objecting when we do something or take something away that she wants (remotes, cords, phones, electrical outlets). But despite those times, she is THE happiest baby ever! You may not believe it but she rarely cries, which makes her pretty easy and fun to be with all day. She is always very social and friendly. I was at my friend Kelsie's house the other day and Hadley was just laughing and smiling and talking to Kelsie the whole time. She would be playing and crawling around the room and then she would stop and check to see if Kelsie was still watching her and would give her some attention. So cute!
She either crawls or army crawls (depending on her mood I guess) all over the place. All this movement has already resulted in her getting hurt several times. Mostly she sees something she wants and will then pull it off the shelf or tv stand and onto her head- Sunday it was one of the decorative tiles with sayings on them. That one left a mark, only a small bruise that is almost gone! Whoops, guess dad should keep a closer eye on this little bugger!
She is still a good eater and sleeper. She eats baby food twice a day and will eat whatever we are having for dinner with us... last night turkey and stuffing. My goal is for her to be eating all table food by the time she is 8 months- but since she already chews/gums everything that will be no problem! And she turned back into a great napper! We went through a small stage where she was thinking that two 45 minute naps could get her by but now she takes two good naps totaling between 4 and 4 1/2 hours a day!

Here she is this morning on her 7 month b-day :)

Since I won't let Steve get a dog I guess he'll just have to make do with Hadley. She is his little puppy and will just crawl after her phone!

And this is what we find most mornings! She completely destroys her bed! I can't tell her how many times a day I retie those bumper strings!

Ok, I could go on and on but I won't! We love our sweet Hadley!

First Tooth Brushin'

Well I guess it's already time to be brushing Hadley's two little teeth. The doctor said that we that they were real teeth (yes, I knew that) and that they needed to be brushed just like ours. So yesterday I bought her a mini cute tooth brush and some kids tooth paste and we brushed them for the first time today. She actually enjoyed it because she liked the taste of the toothpaste, even though it was the teeniest tiniest bit. Hopefully she always likes to brush her teeth :)

Viva Las Vegas!

For this years Labor Day weekend Steve and I made the five hour drive to Las Vegas to meet up with our friends Tori and Tim. I recently saw Tori and Mylin in July but we haven't seen Tim or been with both of them since they moved almost two years ago. Since they live in California now we wanted to meet in the middle for a weekend trip. Las Vegas was the obvious choice!
Steve and I left on Friday at about noon and got there at about 5:00 (it was so nice to gain the extra hour). We checked into our room at the Embassy Suites like 2 miles from the strip. It was nice room with a bedroom, bar, fridge, and sitting room. Definitely nice for when we needed Hadley to sleep. That evening we went swimming and ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and put Hadley to be early/on time. We figured she would need at least one good night's sleep for a long weekend with few naps :)
The next morning we met up with Tori, Tim and Mylin for our day on the strip. It was so incredibly hot and we walked probably 5 miles total that day in the heat! We spent a lot of time in Caesar's Palace and visited the Atlantis fountain where did this cool show. We then went to the M&M store, Coke factory, and Planet Hollywood.

Here is Hadley waiting inside Treasure Island for her friends to arrive!

She was so fascinated by all the people around and all the bright lights!

She LOVES her new sippy cups!! If you look closely notice the sweat and red face from the 108 degree weather on the strip.... poor girl!

Looking at the aqaurium in the Atlantis foutain.

Love the wet shirt from playing with her sippy cup for like an hour :)

We did the Coke flavors from around the world.... interesting to say the least! There was so much sugar that we felt sick afterwards and didn't even want real Coke!

My favorite: Apple Lift from Mexico. It tasted like this soda called Manzanita that we get and my family LOVES it!
We took a break from the strip and the heat and came back to our hotel to rest and swim. The girls were so cute playing together... I think Hadley had more fun than Mylin since she picked on her the whole time.

Five weeks apart in age and yes, Hadley is that much bigger than her.

All bundled up after swimming in a COLD pool...
After cleaning up a bit we headed back to the strip for a buffett dinner. We went to the MGM since Steve and I had been there before. Well it was good but nothing like when we went two years ago. Hadley enjoyed the bread and macaroni and cheese! It was about 9 when we finally finished so we all headed home.

Playing in the bed the next morning! She loved all the pillows!

Playin with her new toy from the M&M store.

After a quick morning nap the three of us headed to the Las Vegas Outlet Store to do a little shopping before meeting up with Tori and Tim a little later. We spent way too much money but there was so many great deals! Hadley got some cute things from Osh Kosh, Tommy Hilfiger, and Gymboree. Steve got some new shoes and shirts and I got a new puffy vest for winter!
After eating lunch and meeting up with Tori and Tim we took a quick break time at the hotel again while we made plan. We decided to go the Ethel M Chocolate Factory. So it was a little sad because the factory wasn't running because it was the weekend. But the chocolate samples and the ones we bought were totally worth it. Hands down best chocolate I have EVER had!!

Hadley finally feel asleep and I was paranoid that she was going to wake up so I kept checking on her!

After the factory we walked around a little cactus garden they had and took some pictures.

Hadley had just woken up and kept giving this look to Tim!

Two cute girls who were soooooo good the entire time despite totally off schedules, hot weather, and little sleep!
We went to dinner and then intended on going to the water show at the Belagio but with some time babies, one very hungry baby, and bad traffic on the strip that just didn't work out!
Monday morning we woke up and headed home fairly early. You know Hadley was tired because she slept 4 1/2 out of the 5 1/2 hour drive home and then 13 hours that night!!

Hadley was excited to be home and show off her new skills of walking around!

Sorry I know this post was LONG...

Fall is Near

I'm afraid to say that I think fall is here! After being in the 108 degree weather of Las Vegas for 4 days we come home to surprising cold weather! I know that weather is getting cold because I had to pull out Hadley's 'fall' pj's for her last night and this morning it was so cold before her nap we had to hang out with our little portable heater! The time is getting close for sweaters and pants and for packing up tank tops and shorts :(

Just a side note: I JUST bought her these pj's a few weeks ago. I wanted some long sleeve and feet ones that were just kinda thin for fall. I bought 6-9 months even though she doesn't really wear that size but I've bought this brand before and it runs big so I figured we'd be ok for a least a month or so when the weather gets colder. Nope! My guess is they will fit her for like 2 more weeks!!
