Date Night = Mad Little Miss

So last weekend Steve planned a date night just the two of us! It's not the first time that we've gone out and left Hadley with a babysitter or at my sister's but it was the first time since I finished school in May. So we decided to go to dinner and the Fiesta Days Rodeo here in Spanish Fork. Both were extremely fun and it was nice to just be alone with Steve... but of course this made for one little mad (not sad) little girl at home. Hillary and Kevin were awesome to come babysit on their Friday night and we were so grateful. We have left Hadley with them a couple of times before we she was younger so we thought everything would be ok.
Boy were we wrong!!
Kevin said that the crying started really from the moment that Steve and I walked out the door. Hillary said that it wasn't like a sad cry, or a hungry cry, it was a very MAD cry. So to make a short story shorter she cried pretty much the entire time we were gone. She wouldn't eat most of her food before bed and she cried in bed for 45 minutes before eventually tiring herself out and falling asleep. And to add- if you know my little baby, she RARELY cries even when hungry or tired.
Well, I was really hoping to start leaving her with babysitters that weren't family members soon but that has long since been lost in my mind! She used to be fine and she is fine when I leave her at Becca's. I have already done that several times this summer to get my hair done and go to church meetings during the day that just didn't want to take her too. So what was so different?!
Here's hoping it gets better next time.... if there is anyone willing to babysit the next time :)

Funny Five Month Girl!

I know that I say this each month but I can believe my baby girl is already over five months old!! She is at such a fun stage (which I feel like each month also) and sometimes I wish I could just freeze her little cuteness!
Some of things that Hadley does at five months:
- Will not hold still, all she wants to do is roll! She prefers to roll from back to stomach but will roll the other way when she gets sick of being on her tummy. But good luck getting her dressed or changing her diaper.
- Still laughs and smiles all the time. She is finding me more funny each day- which makes me feel good because she used to laugh at Steve a lot more than me!
- Will be starting baby food in the beginning of August.
- She is very social, she talks and babbles all the time. She loves her cousins and aunts and uncles.
- She is so funny and tries to mimick things that I do. Her most recent thing is to try to stick out her tongue and make it vibrate and make noise (I hope you know what I am talking about) like Steve and I do.
- Her naps have decreased at litte, now they look more like 9 - 10:45 and 1:30 - 4.
- She sleeps from 7 to 7 and then will just play with her animals and blankets and talk to herself until I come get her out at 7:30.
- She is close to sitting and can stand if you prop her up on something like the couch.
- She loves to play in her exersaucer and her jumperoo.
- She LOVES to go on walks and no longer wants to be in her carseat at the store. She wants to sit in the car and look around.
- She doesn't fit into her 3-6 month clothes anymore so I have to buy her all new 6-9 month summer clothes, which I was not planning on doing. But do you think I minded? No!!

Babies really do amaze me and I have really enjoyed being at home with her and getting to watch her develop more each day! We love you Haddles!!

All ready to go to church!!

Preview... More to Come!

This past Friday and Saturday Tori, Cami, and I began our annual tradition of getting our girls together. This was the first time since they have been born that we could get them all together (seeing as Tori lives in California and Cami in Tennessee). We started at lunch and then went shopping for matching outfits for our photo shoot. It only took like two hours of shopping for us to decide on these adorable tutu's and matching headbands! The girls looked soooooooooooooooo adorable. But do you have any idea how hard it is to get pictures of three babies under 5 months looking or smiling at the same time. Hadley was a little fussy because she was hungry, tired, and teething but overall it turned out good! I only took a few pictures and the rest are on Tori's nice camera (hence the more to come).

After spending most of the at Thanksgiving point eating, shopping, and walking we headed to Sandy to go to the aquarium. Hadley and Jane loved watching the fish and the penguins and Mylin slept through the whole thing :)

What a great time the 6 of us had! Can't wait to do it again next year- how much harder will be it to keep three 16 month olds together for another photo shoot?!

Happy 4th!

Our fourth was pretty low key and relaxed. We went to church, Steve taught primary, I went to my cub scout meeting, just the usual Sunday routine. My mom was in town so we had everyone over for a barbeque. It was fun to be with everyone!
When I bought this outfit in March I didn't intend it to be for the 4th of July- but it worked perfect!

Livi is really improving on her picture taking skills!

Trying New Things!

I decided to stop using Hadley's little baby bath to give her baths. Ok, so this is really the most entertaining part of our day. She loves to have the freedom of the entire tub! She kicks so hard and so fast that I seriously get soaked. She scoots herself all around the tub and laughs and squeals the entire time! I seriously leave her in there for like 10 or 15 minutes!

She has moved from sleeping on her back to sleeping in her side. I am surprised that during this nap she kept her blanket on- it's usually off within minutes of being put down! What a little sweetie!

She also has now begus using her exersaucer and quite likes it. At first she didn't realize that she could stand so she would just kind of slump to the side. This picture was Saturday and she is much better at using it now. She also LOVES to be outside and playing in it for like 45 minutes while Steve and did yard work :)

Trip to Colorado

Becca and I drove to Colorado on the 25th of June. We started our trip with some time at my grandparents cabin in the mountains. It was so fun like always!
Luke loved the fire!

Livi loved the swings!

Max and Hadley loved hanging out in the grass doing this...

and this....

and a little of this! They are so funny together!

We drove up and then walked to the waterfalls. Normally, we all go down and stand right on the edge, but I didn't really feel comfortable hiking straight down with Hadley in the Snugi.

On Monday we went miniature golfing in the morning. Since Hadley couldn't participate with the other kids, she did a lot of this! After naps we met Ashton and his family at Louie's pizza- oh the amazing pizza! Pretty sure I gained about 5 pounds that night. And of course we did some good people watching in downtown Colorado Springs... always something or someone to watch!

Tuesday Becca and I went with my dad and the kids to the Cave of the Winds. I haven't been there since like 5th grade and it was actually really fun. Of course Luke was in his absolute element, but Livi not so much. It was dark and cold in the caves, but Hadley was a perfect angel! Later that day I met four (Jessie, Lindsay, Bear, and Erin) of my best friends from high school for dinner. In high school we all cheered together and you pretty much couldn't tear us apart! It's a tradition that everytime I come to town we go to dinner at Red Robin. I am amazed that after 6 years, two babies, 5 marriages, and 1 divorce we all still keep in contact. When we get together it's like no time has passed- laughing, sharing memories, telling stories! I am so sad that I had left my camera in Becca's car and she wasn't home when I left... so no picture!

Ok, so I asked my dad to take this picture of Hadley- this is how it turned out. Her eyes weren't used to such bright lights since it was dark down in the caves. Apparently, she was quite surprised! Haha!
